STAYING OUT FOR THE SUMMER
We're taking a break (for how long we do not know) to get some tunes together for album proper #3.

In the meantime, you can listen to the B-sides album over there on the right.

We have also sponsored Ian Frazer, St Helens Town AFC's Player's Player of The Year last season and brother of JTL and DTL's school chum. An all round good egg, hope he's not got any Superinjunctions out... Support your local teams people.

Hope to see you soon, we'll keep you posted. Thankyou all.

PS: We'll sort the website out too, it's like 1995 on here... (It will be! - expect flying toasters).

Massive "cheers" to everyone at the City game for a top day and for not bottling us off stage. Big shout outs and big ups to Josh our "slave" for the day (hope we didn't make too much mess)...
We would like to point out to the scary guys in the box next to us that we only wanted West Brom to score as in the picture below most of us were betting on a 3-1 result.
Hope the "dancing guys" got a free CD and we'll see y'all real soon.

The final B-Side To A Non-Existent A-Side was sent out last night. If you missed out on them then shame on you... There will however probably be some way to download all thirteen wonderous slices of "stuff not good enough to put on a proper album" somewhere soon. A big thankyou to all of you who downloaded em, we might sort out something special just for you guys.
We'll be busy getting album 3 ready soon... No estimates of timescales shall be braved, so we'll just say it's due before the olympics.

Help Us Help A Friend
Jim Noir, (our old friend from the days when we worked in telesales together - see picture below) is having a little gig of his own at The Ruby Lounge on 18th November. He's asked us if we'll go down and help him out by bringing some people down, so we'll be playing a little set early on to get the ball rolling for him. Be nice if you could come...

Next up is Camden (there's been a change of venue - check Gigs for info). Hope to see some old faces down cos its been a while... (Do they still think £5 for Double Vodka Redbull is an offer?) We've got plenty of pound coins to buy jokes off the irish homeless guy, so at least we'll be entertained, whether or not you will depends on if the Double Vodka Redbull price has dropped... L8ERS!

6 Good - 6 Bad
6 Good
6 MORE SLEEPS TIL BIG WOW!!!
Unless you can get down to St Helens on Saturday where Kaleidoscope Records will exclusively be selling it early for the bargainous prix of £8.

6 Bad
BBC Muppets closing BBC6 Music. Adam and Joe is the only reason worth getting up for on a Saturday morning, and since they've been on hiatus I haven't. I'm still in bed from 10 Saturdays ago. Not just that, but it's home to Guy Garvey (NTL's best mate)and Marc Riley (Who was nice enough to put us on), and basically every show on there is infinitely better than ANY other radio station.
Hop over to http://www.love6music.com/ now and DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING!
BBC 6 is a platform for new bands to get a break and a place to hear some GOOD music (whatever that term means), instead of having Dross-Muzak-Drill-Pumped directly into your shit-filled-ears... If the BBC wants to save money, they shouldn't have bankrolled the promotion of U2's last slab of MOR-bland-as-you-like-sunday-driving-doing-the-laundry-shite... The band who earned more than anyone else last year should foot the bill for 6music. The government should bring in a "Bonotax"... Everytime he hypocritikilly bangs on about saving the planet he should have to pay either (and I'm being fair, I'm giving him a choice... I'm no Tory) £65,000,000,000 or have 30% of his bones broken live on TV by Barry Shitpeas...

In all this "cool music furore" let's not forget the closure of BBC Asian Network too. I'm not going to go into how much I love listening to it (some of my best friends etc...) because I truly never have, but surely it gets more listeners than BBC 7 and must supply more of a service to this nation than Chris Moyles bleating on about god knows what, (I'd like to mention a 'piece' he does daily but having never listened to the king-prole all I can think he does is drool loudly onto a mic'd up desk whilst his 'lackies' throw darts into a copy of The Star and read out whatever words they can pronounce on that page. They probably say the word 'random' a lot too.) every morning (yes thats right we were in parenthesis there for a while, better go back and see what the sentence was about) just so some hung-over-off-cool-cider-braindead-arse can "perk up" on his way to whatever he does to earn enough money each month to buy himself some stuff to make him feel better about being a worthless drain of oxygen.

This was a fartly-solicital blogcast from DTL. Apologies to people offended by the swearys, but I couldn't give a flying fuck. Please buy the album.

Spooky Wooky!
If you're one of the literally tens of people who've signed up for the B-Sides to Non-Exstent A-Sides on the mailing list then check yer inboxes for the first installment.
If the track you get is only 1 minute long then try again, there seems to be a problem with the host at the moment. You will get the full track, not just a snippet... Although after a minute you may have had enough Spooky Wooky to last you a lifetime...

Don't forget, tonight's gig has been cancelled so why not just stay in and enjoy the last few days of "proper" teletext. My favourite page? P407 on Channel 4...
27th October 2009
Friday's Gig Cancelled
Due to the closure of Indiependence in St Helens, the gig on Friday will be cancelled... After all the trouble we went to slashing ourselves for the poster too...

But never fear as there's still time to register on the mailing list to receive the very first B-Side to a Non-Existent A-Side EVER!!! Which will hopefully fulfil your Halloween needs.... Aaaaoooooooooooooowwwwwww!

Peace and Love, peace and love...

B-Sides To Non-Existent A-Sides!

Early 2010 will see The Loungs release their second album “Big Wow” on Fresh Hair Records. As this album will contain no singles, The Loungs’s collection of B-Sides are sitting in the dark being unloved... As we speak, one has just succumbed to consumption.

On 30th October, The Loungs, in association with Fresh Hair Records, will be releasing the first ever B-Side to a Non-Existent A-Side EVER!!!*

And what could make this monumentous occasion any better?
Well, these B-Sides to non-Existent A-Sides will all be FREE-FREE-FREE!!! Yes, that’s right! If you sign up to The Loungs’s very own mailinglist at www.theloungs.co.uk then every blue moon you could be enjoying a very-special-treat* all for nothing. And once enough have been released then you’ll be able to download the artwork and make your very own unofficial album.

Why on earth are such a great band* as The Loungs giving away stuff for free?
Read this extract from WTL’s diary and all will become clear...

“Back in our day, you’d head down to Our Price or Music Zone (ignoring the old man humming Demons to himself) and buy the latest short-player by yer favourite band. After spinning the first track of the CD, you’d take it out, turn it over in a full rotation (360˚), pop it back in and play tracks 2-4... Those were the days... And every now and then, just maybe you’d chance upon a gem of a tune that no sane person in the world would pay good money for... That’s what we should do...” said Jamie, as he brushed the hair from between his eyes. And it was in his eyes that I could see he was searching for something... What it was I couldn’t say, but it was important to him and in that way, it became important to me too.

So these tracks are just going to be terrible songs not worthy of being on an album?
That’s 100% correct, but not just that, they’ll be so much more! Some may even have you questioning “What makes a song a song and not just a bunch of noise?” - Good times indeed...

So join the mailinglist NOW!!!

*Any claims may have no actual basis in reality...
